Why RE3?

Women of color are drivers for higher education transformation.  Their labor is driven by vision, wisdom, commitments to social justice and love for students and their communities.  Their voices and leadership are critical to new pedagogical models that are equity first and responsive to the lived experiences and life contexts students bring to their educational journeys.

In these times of radical change and continued uncertainty brought about by the lingering COVID landscape and racial reckoning experienced within our communities, women of color are also sought out to ensure the work continues and students remain centered in strategies to move forward.  It is a challenging time for all of us.

The weariness that results is layered on top of exhaustion that is so deeply felt at the intersection between racialized and gendered fatigue2 and entrenched systemic inequities.  The women who are so needed to help lead change are in danger of leaving their positions because they are exhausted.

Our work centers on strengthening and sustaining the voices, vision and leadership of women of color so that they can remain dynamic and ready to continue their critically important work.  If we hope for transformation and equity within our higher education systems and communities, this is imperative.

We will be staying at San Diego’s beautiful Bay Club Hotel & Marina.

Discounted room rates are available for $169 per night. These rates are available before and after the Summit if you would like to extend your stay. Please do not book your rooms until your registration has been confirmed.
